1. One setup, three answers — the yellow line tells you if your eyes are in the right place, the red lines tell you what your face is doing at impact, and the gate tells you if your start line was on target; no other string does all three
 
2. Stop guessing what your face does at impact — if the ball rolls along the yellow line, your face was square; if it drifts toward the upper red line, your face was open; if it drifts lower, your face was closed; the string tells you before you even walk to mark your ball
 
Finally see if your eyes are actually over the ball — place the ball under the yellow line and look straight down; if the line splits the ball in half, your eyes are in the right place; if they are not, you have been misreading every putt
 
3. Train straight putts and breaking putts with the same tool — use the gate at the end as a start-line checkpoint for straight putts, or move it to the break point for curved putts; one string, two completely different drills
