Golf Putting Speed Trap with Rectangular Obstacles is a multi-functional aid for training putting speed control. Obstacles are placed in different locations to practice the continuity of each part of the putting motion, as well as the putter head and face state. Poor speed or putter head control will trigger contact with the obstacle, providing immediate feedback.
The speed trap consists of a carbon fiber putting plate and two silicone obstacles. The silicone obstacles are available in triangular and rectangular shapes. Different shapes of silicone obstacles are used in different positions for different training purposes.
The putting plate and silicone obstacles can be used independently or in combination, providing diverse training methods for putting.
The carbon fiber putting plate measures 30.5 x 19 cm and weighs 139g. It can be used independently and includes ground ball position, onboard ball position, and putter face alignment reference lines. It can be secured with Tees.
Carbon fiber is lightweight, thin, elastic, tough, and has high tensile strength, allowing it to withstand greater loads. It is also moisture-resistant, heat-resistant, and does not easily deform, resulting in a long service life. Therefore, it is significantly more expensive than conventional materials.
The rectangular and triangular obstacle blocks are made of hard silicone, preventing putter head damage upon contact. The vibrant red color provides excellent visual reference.
Rectangular obstacle block dimensions: 12.8 x 3.8 x 2.8 cm, weight 156g; Triangular obstacle block dimensions: 16 x 3 x 3 cm, weight 85g. Holes on the obstacle blocks are Tee holes.
Speed trap setup reference:
1) Ball position on the ground, obstacle blocks fixed on either side of the ball:
The distance between the obstacle blocks should be set to allow the putter head to pass through, training for stable putter face follow-through after impact.
The smaller the distance, the greater the difficulty.
Triangular obstacle blocks offer a higher margin of error than rectangular blocks.
2) Ball on the board, obstacles fixed on both sides behind half a ball:
The distance between the obstacles is set so that the putter face cannot pass through, providing the head with half a ball's distance for impact, training the highest peak putting speed.
Triangular obstacles can have their bottoms raised, making the area the putter face passes through wider at the bottom and narrower at the top, increasing the difficulty of practice (see diagram below).
3) Ball on the ground or board, obstacles fixed left-front-right-rear:
The distance between the obstacles is set so that the putter head can pass through. The right-rear obstacle ensures a square backswing heel and a square putter head toe after impact, providing a stable follow-through.
The smaller the spacing, the greater the difficulty.
Triangular obstacles can have their bottoms raised, increasing the difficulty of practice.
4) Ball on the ground or board, obstacles fixed left-rear-right-front:
The distance between the obstacles is set so that the putter head can pass through. The left-rear obstacle ensures a square backswing toe and a square putter head heel after impact, providing a stable follow-through. The smaller the spacing, the greater the difficulty.
Triangular obstacle blocks can stand the bottom upright, increasing the difficulty of practice.
